Abstract

Every engineering team adopting AI is making delegation decisions. Very few make those decisions explicit.

You have probably heard that judgement matters more than execution. I agree. This talk answers the next question: how do you know which testing decisions your team has already handed to AI without ever explicitly deciding to?

Many costly AI-assisted testing failures aren’t caused by poor execution. They are caused by delegating the wrong decision. I call this Silent Delegation: when AI begins influencing testing decisions without anyone explicitly deciding who remains accountable for the outcome.

This session introduces a four-question Decision Test and the Delegation Matrix it produces - a practical way to decide whether a testing activity should be delegated, augmented, verified, or retained.

You will leave with a practical way to catch Silent Delegation in your own team before it becomes a production problem.
